  1. Hi. I first learned about being a “hybrid” from your article this month in Adobe Edge. It was so very eye-opening to learn of others like myself! I Googled like crazy after reading the article, to learn more about the viablility of this “dual-core” skill set.

I’ve been a designer for more than 20 years, using Adobe products since Photoshop 2. I started working with the Web over 5 years ago, and decided to go back to school to get an additional degree in web development while working full time. Over the last 5 years I have used Dreamweaver to create pages, ActionScript3 and JavaScript to create lean interactive web content, as well as learning more than ever in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Fireworks. I’ve become proficient in HTML and CSS and absolutely love every bit of what I have learned!

It is now time for me to present myself to the company I work for. They are interested in seeing how my new skill sets from school will fit in with projected company growth. Somehow they have missed the fact that I am already using skill sets as I learn and grow them to gain new customers! I plan to introduce upper level management to the concept of design/dev hybrid, and rock their world with what I’ve already accomplished for them!

I want to thank you for your article in the Edge this month, as well as the heartfelt blogs you have posted about being a girl geek. You have a new fan!

    Kind regards,
    Joyce Keller
